The Miss Ghana USA organization is pleased to announce that the annual Miss Ghana USA pageant will be held on Saturday, 30th June, 2018 in New York.
Miss Ghana USA was founded in 2009 to promote young women of Ghanaian heritage and to provide them with an avenue to achieve career goals and carry out social and humanitarian initiatives. The event will be taking place at the Brooklyn music school 126 Saint Felix Street, Brooklyn, NYC 11217.
This year's lineup of pageant hopefuls consists of twelve (12) young Ghanaian-American women from different parts of the U.S, with each of them representing a State in the U.S as well as a region in Ghana. Miss Ghana USA 2018 will be the 7th edition of the diaspora pageant. Reigning queen, Lucy Yeboah will crown her successor at the end of the event.
Miss Ghana USA founder, Gloria Opare Gracia states her expectations for this year's event; "The journey hasn't been easy from day one but commitment, hard work, sense of patriotism and the zeal to succeed has seen us through our almost a decade of existence. We are here to witness yet another milestone in the life of MGUSA; another opportunity to redefine beauty in the African perspective. Congratulations to all who made it to the finals.
"A successful event is what we envisage for this year. Our prime focus is charity and has never changed. We're looking forward to crowning a queen whose ideologies and principles remain in sync with our core mandate. Good luck to all contestants and may the best person win" - Edmund Dapaa, Brand Director.
