The major headache of most Musicians in Ghana has been that they don't make enough off their craft due to many factors. Chief among them is the poor royalty system that has been put in place.
Speaking on the issue on Starr FM's Entertainment show, Starr Drive with Berla Mundi & Giovanni Caleb , Gasmilla said that Artistes rely on shows to make a living.
"The only thing we live on when all the fame and glam is gone is royalties.
And that doesn't come. So if you don't have a hit song in Ghana as a musician, you are dead." he said
The Azonto King made a startling revelation that the highest amount he has ever received as an Artiste is GH¢500 within a 6month period.
Gasmilla is a Ghanaian afropop artiste who hails from Jamestown in Accra. He is promoting his new single "Akensomoshie".
