2010 WORLD CUP PENALTY MISS WILL LIVE WITH ME FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE – ASAMOAH GYAN

Ghana's captain and talisman Asamoah Gyan has disclosed that the 2010 FIFA World Cup quarter finals Penalty miss against Uruguay will forever live with him for the rest of his life.

According to him, ‘‘the penalty miss is something that’s going to live with me for the rest of my life because it was a crucial moment and its part of the game.’’

The Skipper of the Ghana Black Stars came under intense criticisms after he missed a penalty kick caused by Luis Suarez's handball after denying Dominic Adiyiah a late minute extra time goal for Ghana.

Speaking at the 8Th Edition of LEAD SERIES held at Accra Mall as the personality guest , Asamoah Gyan said that, ‘‘sometimes when I am alone in the room, I think about all these things, I wish it can rewind but it has already happened but life goes on’’

He added that, ‘things happen in the game, you will face a lot of up’s and down’s but it’s something that you cannot change it, it has happened’’.

Asamoah further explained that, ‘there are a lot of players that have missed penalties but sometimes people feel like that moment was crucial …… but the question I want to ask is that, what about me being on the field? How am I going to feel after missing it?

He was however quick to say that if ever a similar chance happens to present itself, he will step up to ‘redeem himself’ but of which he doesn’t know for now.

‘‘But if it doesn’t ever happen to him, maybe his son, nephew or somebody else can do it in the near future’’
