Freda Becomes First Female To Win Mtn Hitmaker

After several weeks of thrilling performances, the battle for supremacy is over as Freda was crowned winner of MTN’s music reality show Hitmaker Season 6.

The rapper becomes the first female to win the covetous title, since its inception.

Freda wins a GHC100,000 recording contract as well as a video shoot worth $5,000. This is fully sponsored by Content Connect Ghana.

She takes over from last season’s winner Kurl Songx.

In spite of the stiff competition from equally good finalists Drew, Yaw Berk and Xali, who placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively, Freda was impressive with regards to her performances.

Second-placed Drew was also a surprise recipient of a lip-smacking GHc20,000 aimed at helping him in his music career.

Backed by the Patch Bay Band, there were performances from some past contestants like F9, Koo Ntakra, Kidi, and Kuami Eugene, who are already making strides in Ghana music.

The grand finale which took place at the National Theatre on Wednesday night was hosted by Berla Mundi, and Giovani Caleb.

Judges Francis Doku and Caroline Sampson were generally impressed with the performance of the contestants.
