Sleeky Promotions, organizers of the event confirmed in an exclusive interview during Ricky Rick’s Drive Entertainment on Takoradi-based Empire 102.7Fm the amount they paid Patapaa was the highest ever paid to the artiste and it excluded travel arrangements, catering and hotel accommodation!! It comes on the back of reportage that the artiste, currently Ghana's most sought-after act, turned down a decent GHC1,000 to perform at the RTP awards.
Very recently, beatmaker Mr Loyalty, who produced Patapaa's hit single demanded an amount of GHC1500 from the nouveaux riche artist, being outstanding debts for his beat services and another GHC1000 for another act, Ras Cann, who also featured on the song.
It's funny how Patapaa has been quoted in several quarters saying he's still broke even after performing at several high profile events for so much.
