Bice Osei Kufour alias Obour has retained his seat as president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA). Obour polled 88 votes to beat his contenders Gyedu Blay Ambulley and Appiah Dankwa (Appietus) who polled 22 and 18 votes respectively.
Delegates converged at the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua on Saturday to elect executives who will steer the affairs of the union for the next four years. During the campaign period, Obour said he deserved a second term because his administration had chalked a number of successes. Ambulley and Appietus on the other hand discredited him saying, he is not worthy of a re-election as he had let the union down.
Meanwhile, Appietus is shocked he polled 18 votes in presidential race. Although Appietus has conceded defeat, he believes the delegates let him down considering how they appeared to have accepted his message.
“The election was free and fair but fear delegates,” he said on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review show.

Appietus congratulated Obour for winning the election on the second term. “He worked harder. He deserves it. The margin shows the people bought his manifesto. Congrats to Obour. He’s done well. I gave them my vision but they decided to give their mandate to Obour,” he said.
When asked if he would consider contesting next four years, Appietus said he would consult his team.
“I can’t decide at this moment. I have people I work with,” the beat maker said.
