Accra went buzzing on Wednesday, August 27 when Starr FM took to the streets to outdoor its ‘Starr’ presenters as part of a ‘Meet and Greet’ pre-launch series.
Led by CEO Kwabena Anokye Adisi a.k.a Bola Ray and General Manager Cox Tamakloe, the star-studded team began a three-day trip across Ghana’s capital visiting corporate institutions and meeting the people of Accra at targeted venues.
According to Bola Ray, the event is to “properly introduce the station and our personalities to our neighbours before we commence normal programming in September.”
This, according to him, will allow people the chance to get to meet who they are listening to and “build an emotional bond or connection with these people.”
The elegant looking Starr FM presenters were conveyed in a luxurious Starr branded bus escorted by a police motorcade.
More exciting and memorable about the tour is the side attractions it came with.

In what seemed to be an elaborate display of gallantry, the ‘Starrs’ were able to attract a lot of attention with a rendition of the Biblical ‘three-wise men’ who went searching for the new born ‘Starr’.
Events and Brands Manager at Starr FM, Jeff Sowah told StarrFMonline.com he is happy the station was able to create enough awareness on the first day of the three-day event.
“It’s been an excellent experience and we are getting Accra to talk,” he stated. “There is much more to come as this is just the tip of the iceberg.”
As part of the ‘Meet and Greet’ activities, the presenters interacted and had photo ops with a section of the public while sales personnel took time to strike acquaintances with top business executives.
The targeted stops on the trip included the Ridge Banking enclave, Ridge Towers, Total House, Tigo, Unibank, Starlife-Airport and the British Council.
The COO of Unibank, Kwabena Duffuor Jnr. said he was confident Starr FM will become the market leaders in no time.
“I see this station become the best in Ghana, even Africa. I can only urge you to put credibility above all and the rest will be left for the world to judge,” he said.
A section of the curious crowd, who thronged the streets to catch a glimpse of the Starr entourage expressed delight about the brand and said they have been waiting for the “refreshing moment” to move away from “the noise” on the Ghanaian airwaves.
