INSIDE Starr 103.5 FM : SEE THE LINE-UP FOR Accra’s Newest Urban Radio Station Programms !!!

STARR 103.5 FM, Accra’s newest addition to urban radio will play big, new promotional materials suggest.

In what could possibly pass for an all-starr team, the scheduling of it’s big-name presenters into a daily radio programming routine carefully planned, is sure to give radio managers in the capital some headache.

Kafui Dey, a fine events MC, and television host, is leading the charge as host of the station’s morning show.

He is paired alongside Jackie Ankrah, formerly of Atlantis Radio, and Net 2 TV.

Bola Ray, until now one of the longest-serving presenters of the Kokomlemle-based JOY FM, returns to a spot he is all too familiar with.

He is to drive the capital home between 3:00pm and 6:00pm.

Comedian/Actor Funny Face, is also making a return to radio years after having a stint on Adom FM (with Abeiku Santana).

He plays sparring to former JOY FM DJ, Nii Ayi Tagoe, on Saturday mornings, in a special programme aptly titled Morning Zoo.

Predictably, it is positioned to make nonsense of JOY FM’s ‘Weekend City Show’, which the latter co-hosted until he resigned to join Starr.

DJ Blow, perhaps one of urban radio’s biggest names in old school music, also returns to weekend radio with the Weekend Groove.

Blow’s very popular for this kind of genre, and is one of few respected voices in that department on urban radio.

Former Choice FM, CITI FM, and Allo Tigo presenter, Jon Germain will host the station’s after drive from Monday to Thursday.

Young sweetheart, Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku, who’s become an on-screen favourite in movies, and television shows, has been given the sole responsibility of sitting Accra down from 9:00am to 12:00pm on weekdays.
An onslaught that is refreshing competition for mainstream radio, it remains to be seen how fast this new baby will grow.
