Adom 106.3fm is preparing to organize its annual gospel concert, Adom Praiz. This Sunday, Kwamena Idan on his show (After Church), indicated that preparations are far advanced for this years’ Adom Praiz’. This is the fifth year that the concert will be happening.
In the first year, it was all-local performance as only Ghanaian gospel musicians mounted the stage which featured among others, Cecilia Marfo, Ernest Opoku and Kwaku Gyasi. The 2nd Adom Praiz Concert was held in 2010 which featured the American Gospel Music icon, Cece Winans alongside carefully selected gospel artists -Cecilia Marfo, Soul Winners among others. It was an unforgettable worship experience at the AICC.
In the 3rd year(2011), American Gospel Art and King of Praise, Dr. Ron Kenoly thrilled gospel music enthusiast with repertoire of melodious tunes alongside Tagoe Sisters, Cindy Thompson, Rev. Mary Ghansah, Stella Seal among others. In 2012, the concert coincided with the death of president John Evans Atta-Mills and so it was called off. The concert bounced back in 2013 with performances from Grammy award-winning gospel musician, Kirk Franklin, Ohemaa Mercy, No Tribe, Cwesi Oteng, Cecilia Marfo among others.
In its fifth year running, for now, the organizers are tight- lipped on who the artists are and also keeping to their chests the date of the concert. Last years’ concert saw a massive patronage from gospel music enthusiasts, politicians, believers and Ghanaians of all shades and indeed it was a purely overdose of blessing at the Perez Dome.
