Scores of Ghanaians trooped the National Theatre Friday night to pay their last respect and bid former member of sensational music group Buk Bak, Ronnie Coaches farewell.
Born Ronnie Nii Quarshikumah Quainoo, Ronnie, 36, died on November 21st, 2013 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after suffering a heart attack.
Fans attended the wake-keeping to catch a glimpse of the mortal remains their former music star before the burial on Saturday, February 1st at the Osu Cemetary.
The wake-keeping at the National Theatre witnessed an unprecedented number of Ghanaians, including family of the late musician, fans and musicians in attendance.
Some of the well-known faces at the event included Ronnie’s group member Prince Bright (Bling Sparkles), Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) president Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour), Ahuma Bosco Ocansey (Daddy Bosco), Stone of Bradez, Kontihene, and Bernard Amankwah.

According to eyewitnesses, who spoke to Myjoyonline.com, there was some confusion at the Bubuashie residences of both Ronnie's mother, Lilly, and father, Decarlo Coaches Quainoo Friday, as soon as the body of the late musician wwas conveyed from Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital morgue.
The source said, as soon as the body arrived in the vicinity where his parents live - their houses are separated by a street - both of them insisted the remains be brought to their homes.
Reports say after several minutes of a near tussle between the two factions as to who has the right to the body, an unnamed relative managed to move the body to safety till it was later sent to the National Theatre for the Wake-keeping.
The National Theatre will also host a funeral service and special musical concert in honour of Ronnie Coaches. The concert will see performances from several artistes including Prince Bright (Blinks Sparkles), also a member of Buk Bak, and music trio, 4x4.
The remains of the late musician will be interred at the Osu Cemetery on February 1st, followed a memorial service at the Success Chapel, Bubuashie in Accra on Sunday, February 2nd.
