Meet The MultiChoice Talent Factory West Africa Class Of 2024!

MultiChoice is proud to welcome the latest cohort of 20 young and passionate filmmakers to its MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) West Africa Academy in Lagos, as the MTF Class of 2024 starts its fully funded, year-long course of training in film and television.

The students consisting of a diverse group of male and females from Nigeria and Ghana, were chosen after a rigorous six-week selection process of interviews and adjudication by film and television experts, as well as regional academy directors.

The MTF West Africa Academy is one of three on the continent, where students spend 12 months in workshops, lectures and masterclasses, gaining skills in screenwriting, editing, various elements of production, directing and the business of film, amongst others.

These are done through rich theoretical trainings and immersive experience working on TV and film productions, all geared to broadening their skillsets and empowering them to work in various creative disciplines – not only the film industry.

Nominations Opened For 25th Edition Of Ghana Music Awards

Nominations for the 25th edition of Ghana Music Awards have been opened for all artistes, music executives, instrumentalists, composers, and all music industry stakeholders.

Artists, managers, and music industry stakeholders have up until February 29 to submit their entries through the official portal: https://www.entry.ghanamusicawards.com.

The works from the nominees across a diverse range of categories should be released between January 1st and December 31st, 2023.

“Calling on all GH Artistes, Producers and Record Labels, nominations for the 25th Ghana Music Awards are officially open. Kindly submit works from Jan 1st – Dec 31st, 2023, for consideration via our website before or by entry deadline,” organisers of the award scheme announced via X on January 29.

The Ghana Music Awards, for the past 25 years has consistently celebrated and recognised the efforts of Ghanaian music professionals. As it marks its 25 years’ anniversary, it is expected that event leaves a remarkable rendition on the minds of Ghanaians devoid of suspicion of cheating and favouritism.

Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards Revises Award Categories As It Calls For Entries Ahead Of It's 10th Edition

The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards have celebrated the best of the African film industry since 2013 and will hold its tenth edition this year.

After an exciting three-day ninth edition in 2023, the awards organisers, Africa Magic in association with Multichoice Nigeria, will recognise and celebrate the best African film talent in a grand ceremony later this year.

To this end, Africa Magic in association with Multichoice Nigeria, are calling on all African filmmakers to submit their movies and films publicly exhibited or broadcast between December 1, 2022, and December 31, 2023, for this year’s edition.

 The entry portal opens on January 15th, 2024, and closes on February 14th, 2024. All films (aired in cinemas or otherwise), made-for-television movies and television series, so long as they meet the terms and conditions, are eligible.
